Discoverdatascience.org is dedicated to providing current and prospective students with the necessary information and resources to succeed in the field of data science prior to and after graduation. We’ve spoken with various experts and have performed comprehensive research to help students make well-informed decisions prior to furthering their education in data science and other related fields. This guide addresses the challenges that many women and young girls face when pursuing an interest, degree, or job in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields. The comprehensive guide offers expert tips, interviews and additional resources to parents, students, campuses, and programs. It is the goal of this guide to enable individuals and groups in fostering a welcoming environment for females to succeed in the STEM fields.
Most graduate degree programs in data science and its related fields require or (at a minimum) recommend submitting a Graduate Record Examination score. The GRE Prep guide explains the process of preparing, registering for and taking the test. It categorizes the various sections as well as offers expert tips and additional resources for students to use to master the skills required for the exam.
Minorities in STEM Guide
The Minorities in STEM Guide provides an insider’s look at STEM industries and explores the reasons as to why minorities have traditionally been underrepresented in these fields. It focuses closely on the lack of exposure, and tackles the challenges of providing information to parents and students about the educational and career opportunities in the STEM fields. The guide also provides valuable resources and expert tips for minority students to navigate through while choosing an educational and post graduate career in the Fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
